PARIS VS LAGOS
“EVERY ONE KEEPS SENDING LOVE AND LIGHT MY WAY, DOES THAT MEAN THEY ARE SENDING PARIS MY WAY?”
I’ve been in France for two weeks now and I’ve been visiting places, going from city to city, but no city in France can be compared to the capital of France, Paris.

I hate to break it to you but Paris is more like Lagos, except there’s light, diverse means of transportation, you may think I’m insane, comparing a whole Paris to Lagos, but I’m not, I’ll tell you why.
Paris is a very beautiful place, great buildings, lights everywhere, great tourist centers, fashion, arts etc., and I’m honestly in love with the city but it gives me the Lagos chills.
Like most capitals, Paris is crowded, it becomes very annoying when you can’t take the bus or the train without people struggling to sit down or someone is stepping on you. I’m a Lagos babe and I’m quite accustomed to all these but I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. The train is full, we can all see that people are standing, there’s no space to stand(reminds me of BRT BUS) and people are still pushing, trying to go Inside (nobody even told us this side of Paris and no movie ever showed us this too).
Every city has pickpockets and Paris is not excluded, infact, it is popularly known for theft, in the bus, in the train, on the streets, everywhere( reminds you of Lagos huh?) the only difference is that, they make announcements in the train that people should be careful of pickpockets.
When I think of Lagos, the first thing that comes to my mind is traffic, one of our trademarks, you could use 5 hours on the road for a journey that is supposed to take an hour, although, the traffic in Paris is not as bad, but there are bad days, what makes it better is the diverse means of transportation, everybody is not on the road, some people take the tramp, some metro etc.
P.S: There is no perfect city. I’m not trying to diss Paris (I love Paris, this is my fourth time here), this is just me pointing out the difference between my expectations and reality.
